My Journey Tattooing

As I sit here in my living room, tattooing an orchid on my ankle thinking of my mom…

As a young female artist, I often get asked about the inspiration behind my brand’s name, “Pink Panther Designs.” It’s a story that’s deeply personal, filled with childhood nostalgia, emotional transformation, and, of course, a love for the color pink and cats.

In a world that has long shamed and stigmatized the vulva, menstruation, and everything related to it, I embarked on a creative journey with a mission – to empower people with vulvas and demystify the very essence of our bodies. Why vulva earrings, you ask? It all began with a desire to challenge the status quo and promote a sex-positive, inclusive, and feminist perspective.

When it comes to tattooing, it’s not just about ink on skin; it’s about telling a story, creating an experience, and leaving an indelible mark on someone’s life. As a female junior tattoo artist specializing in black work tattoos, my journey has been a fusion of inspiration, technique, and a deep love for the anime world.

In the realm of body art, tattoos have long been celebrated for their aesthetic appeal and cultural significance. They serve as visual storytellers, adorned with personal narratives and symbolism. But, beyond the ink and needles, there lies a powerful therapeutic connection that can profoundly impact the lives of both artists and clients.

Greetings, tattoo enthusiasts and art lovers! I’m the proud owner and resident tattoo artist at Pink Panther Designs, and today, I’m excited to share the inspiration behind my tattoos and flash designs

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, a transnational intersectional feminist, and an artist in multiple mediums, my experiences, and the wisdom of feminist luminaries like bell hooks, Judith Butler, Angela Davis, Simone de Beauvoir, Mireille Miller-Young, and Amia Srinivasan have been instrumental in shaping Pink Panther Designs into a haven for marginalized communities and a beacon of “artivism.”

Hey there, Pink Panthers! It’s Regina, the artisan behind Pink Panther Designs, and I’m riding a wave of anticipation and nerves as I gear up to unveil my handmade creations at the East Side Flea Market which is the biggest flea market in Vancouver, BC. The clock is ticking down to November 17th, and my tiny living room is a mess and full of activity as I pour my heart and soul into each meticulously crafted piece.

As an artist, I’ve always been drawn to the idea of leaving a tangible mark on the world. And what better way to do that than through the intricate process of creating prints with stamps made from carved art or lino cut? It’s a journey that takes patience, passion, and a pinch of artistic madness.

I am thrilled to share my recent adventure as the proud owner of Pink Panther Designs at the East Side Flea Market this past weekend from November 17th to 19th. It was an exhilarating experience filled with creativity, connections, and a few unexpected challenges.

As the proud owner of Pink Panther Designs, I’m always on the lookout for opportunities to showcase my artwork and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. This past weekend, I had the chance to set up shop at the Vancouver Flea Market—an event I had been eagerly anticipating. Little did I know that this experience would turn out to be a unique blend of challenges and unexpected silver linings.

It’s been an incredible journey since the inception of Pink Panther Designs, and I am both humbled and thrilled to share the evolution of this art brand with you. What started as a fun hobby to create something with meaning and have a creative outlet has grown into a vibrant opportunity, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the support we’ve received.

Artivism, a term born from the fusion of art and activism, is at the core of Pink Panther Designs. We believe in the transformative power of art to challenge societal norms, break down barriers, and spark conversations that lead to real change. As an artist within this vibrant community, I’ve come to appreciate the profound impact that artivism can have on shaping a more inclusive and accepting world.

Art has the incredible power to transcend societal boundaries, challenge norms, and foster open dialogue. Pink Panther Designs believes in harnessing this power to eradicate stigma, encourage conversations, and celebrate the beautiful spectrum of human sexuality. As an artist within this community, I’ve come to appreciate the transformative impact that embracing sex positivity can have on individuals and society as a whole.

I find inspiration in pushing the boundaries of conventional queer art. It’s about more than just rainbows and unicorns; it’s about challenging the status quo, confronting heteronormativity, dismantling whiteness, and embracing the beauty of deviance. Here, my art becomes a vehicle for dismantling societal expectations and a celebration of the diversity within the queer and marginalized communities.

With Pink Panther Designs, a fearless feminist and queer art brand that’s on a mission to redefine the boundaries of expression. At the heart of our ethos is the resounding call to challenge the gender and thought binary, paving the way for a more inclusive, accepting, and liberating world.
